It is no longer news that the forward thinking executive governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has firmed up plans for the state to host its annual One Lagos Fiesta 2018 edition.
What is, however, news is the inclusion of raffle draw in which the winner goes home with a brand new GAC saloon car.
The festival which was put in place to shore up the tourism attraction of the state under the honourable commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, has indeed over the last three years lived up to expectations and surpassing its own records every year as no fewer than two million participants and over 90 million viewers worldwide are expected to take part in this year’s edition.
According to Mr. Kehinde Bamgbetan, Commissioner for Information, he said the event is now an international event, which provides avenue for citizens of the state to gather together and enjoy the yuletide period.
Mr. Ayorinde, who corroborated Mr. Bamgbetan said the event has become the biggest end of the year entertainment brand in Africa as it provides an unparalleled platform for residents and visitors to relax and enjoy themselves in a secure environment.
“As a government, we’re encouraged by the notable achievements recorded for hosting this event in the past,” he continued, “and we are taking advantage of this year’s edition to thank our sponsors who have stood with us from the very beginning under this administration.”
He further explained that Lagos being the economic and sociocultural hub of Africa made it the tradition of Akinwunmi Ambode to use these as a springboard to drive development and market the state’s potentials to domestic and foreign investors who will contribute towards making Lagos great.
On his part, the Head of Media and Brand PR, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Wasiu Abiola, one of the sponsors of the event, told the gathering that his company has always support worthy initiatives and would continue to do so, especially One Lagos Fiesta which the company has planned to make remarkable.
“We’re going to have Star Villages in each of the five centres and you can look forward to unparalleled entertainment in each of them,” he announced.
High Chief Diana Chen, the chairperson of CIG Motors Limited and a dealer in GAC brand of automobile, said that she was appreciative of how the Nigerian community accepted her brand wholeheartedly and had since promised to contribute to the growth of the country in her own little way.
Listing events her company has partnered with, she stated that CIG Motors was the biggest sponsor for LAgos City Marathon and football championship league in Asaba this year.
She didn’t forget to rain praises on the government of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for such an excellent initiative in getting people to have fun for complete 8days in five different locations simultaneously is something worthy of being a partner in.
The event which would commence on December 24, 2018 till the January 1, 2019 and A-List Nigerian artistes like Blackky, Humblesmith, Osupa Saheed, Otunba Adewale Ayuba, Mr. Real, Teni Entertainer and others are slated to perform at the event.
