Ahead of 2019 general elections, the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, Joseph Mukan, has warned politicians in the state against violence.
Mukan, who gave the warning during a meeting with chairmen of all political parties in the state yesterday, also cautioned those allegedly planning to move with arms during elections to desist from it as the law would take its due course.
He said: “Let me appeal to all parents to cushion their children because the police will enforce the full weight of the law on those found wanting. The police command is equally collaborating with sister agencies, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the service chiefs to ensure violence-free elections here in Bayelsa.”
