About 400 students have been given free registration forms for the next Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr. Adewale Egbedun.
The beneficiaries, who were drawn from communities in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area, received their forms at an event held in Okuku, Osun State.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Speaker, represented by the Press Secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu, admonished them to prepare well for the examinations to achieve success.
Tiamiyu, in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, also assured all that once the students pass well in the UTME examination, the Speaker would also assist them in getting placement in schools of their choice.
He further said, “The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, is officially presenting the UTME registration e-pin to 400 students. This is part of the initiative of the Adewale Egbedun Educational Fund. It is not only going to provide this intervention alone. Others will follow. We urge the beneficiaries to prepare well for the examinations.
“Once they pass well, the speaker is ready to work with them to ensure they get placement in schools of their choice. He is also interested in supporting the best students among the beneficiaries with scholarships.
“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate our chairmen in Odo Otin local government and Local Council Development Areas, who have been supporting this education fund through collaboration, which they demonstrated with the preparatory classes for the students.”
