Talk of a hard working lady with a heart of gold, the name Olawole Omobolanle should be registered as such. She is the CEO of Mo’Afrique, a fast rising clothing line located off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
Yesterday, she visited the Deaf Supporters Development Initiative office located at 8th floor, Bookshop House, Broad street,Lagos Island to donate special face masks to the body of the deaf. She presented 500 face masks which was gladly received by the President of Deaf Supporters Development Initiative (DSDI) Mr Afolabi Dahunsi.
Asked what inspired the exceptional move, beautiful Omobolanle revealed that “i felt the need to reach out during this trying times and it crossed my mind that a certain category of people(deaf) will find it difficult to communicate with the regular face mask as they depend on mouth movement and sign language for communication. So I decided to make a design that will suit them at the same time be functional as a matter of protection. So i created a transparent/clear film on the mouth area to help display the mouth movement.”
She is however praying that further supports will come to the aid of the members as she was informed that membership is over 11million spread across the nation.
“I pray that kind hearted Nigerians will support this initiative as the face mask is the last hope of human protection from the virus spread which is killing people globally everyday. They are people with special need and must be treated as such.”
