Lawmaker representing Tambuwal West, Sule Romo, moved a motion on the floor of the state house insisting authorities to “address the situation” of the affected communities following havoc wreaked by flood last week in Tambuwal Local Government Area of the state.
The four villages affected were Barca, Madaci, Bakaya and Maya, in which many houses and properties were destroyed, farm land and crops completely submerged and damaged, all in Tambuwal alone.
The legislature added that many of the inhabitants of the area had been left homeless.
“The area became flood ravaged for years due to the lack of good drainages system.”
Romo, also lamented that reoccurring flood worsened this year, warned of the likelihood of the outbreak of diseases such as Cholera if urgent measures are not taken to rescue the communities.
He noted the inhabitants of the villages as predominantly farmers, traders and civil servants whom he said contribute immensely to the economic development of the state.
The motion which was seconded by member representing Tambuwal East, Mode Sanyinna, was unanimously adopted by the House.
