In 18 months, the Temple Management Company has established itself as a formidable force in the talent actualization and optimization space.
With an ever-expanding client base that includes veterans (DJ Jimmy Jatt, 9ice, Iyanya, Lekan Babalola) and future stars (Jeff Akoh, MaryLove Edwards) alike, the goal of bringing the best African talent to the world is unwavering and stronger than ever.
TMC’s footprint is felt in West, East and South Africa with a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya and partnership with Sandton-based, urban digital platform Touch HD. In Kenya, TMC now represents some of East Africa’s best including Blinky Bill, DJ Mix Master Lenny, DJ Adrian, Shaffie Weru and Khaligraph.
It is to this extent that the Temple Management Company announced the launch of Temple Music. Identifying a gap in the market, TMC has established Temple Music for the development, production, promotion and distribution of young African talent.
Currently, there are six acts signed to Temple Music and they are singers – 9ice, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Jeff Akoh and Bisola Aiyeola, and award winning producer Tee-Y Mix and Adey, rave producer of the moment.
9ice earned a spot as one of Nigeria’s favourite musicians with his 2008 break through song, Gongo Aso. In the same year, he also won 2008 MOBO Best African Act and since then has remained a rallying force for young artistes.
Jeff Akoh won MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2015 and has patiently been honing his craft. With Temple Music firmly behind him, he is ready to share his exceptional talent with the world.
Bisola Aiyeola is best known for her runner up finish in Big Brother Naija 2017 but she was an MTN Project Fame West Africa finalist in 2008. Pursuing her comedic and acting chops, she’s come back full circle to her singing roots and is ready to rock and roll.
Adey, the rave music producer of the moment is also one of the most successful of 2017. He is credited with producing some of the biggest songs of the year including Ycee’s Juice and Link Up as well as Olamide’s Wavy Level.
Tee-Y Mix needs little introduction and is ironically also an instructor from MTN Project Fame West Africa. The celebrated producer will take the lead in developing young talent and also crafting sonic masterpieces to showcase their capabilities.
Together, the trio of Bisola, Jeff and Tee-Y Mix have created an introductory offering to Temple Music with the hot new cool single, “Water + Fire” featuring Jeff and Bisola on vocals and Tee-Y Mix on production. The single is just a small taste of what to expect from Temple Music in the near future.
In line with a commitment to deliver the best of Africa to the rest of the world, Temple Music is also proud to announce a partnership with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation for global distribution of all Temple Music releases.
Leading the way will be the debut album from Jeff Akoh, Lokoja, which will be released on October 27 via Temple Music/Roc Nation. This genre bending body of work features production from Tee-Y Mix, Cobhams Asuquo, Team Salut and DJ Coulbon amongst others. This album is for anybody who loves good music. There’s no other way to put it.
Following Jeff’s project, we can expect a debut album from Bisola in the first quarter of 2018. She’s already in the studio working on her music and getting her features in as well.
This is just the beginning for Temple Music. Look for future collaborations with young, raw talent that we will be developing to keep you entertained.
