In following their commitment to breaking new grounds and frontiers in awards ceremony the organizers of Afro-Heritage Broadcasting & Entertainment Awards (Ahbeawards) has reached out outside entertainment to honour and celebrate a worthy culture promoter and lover of African cultures, arts and language in the person of Otunba (Dr) Gani Adams, a Nigerian with deep sense of culture and respect for African values and language.
At a chit chat session with reporters, the event project manager, ace actor Yomi Fashlanso, explained that picking Otunba Adams out of names submitted across Africa wasn’t an easy task as the committee had days upon days of sieving through many works and programs of easy personalty but eventually Otunba Dr Gani Adams came top.
Aside the fact that he is the national coordinator of Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), a self determination group put in place to emancipate his race from political shackles and bondage, Otunba Gani Adams is equally a chief promoter of cultural festivals, not only in Nigeria, but throughout Africa and beyond through his Olokun Festival Foundation, which is used in promoting well over 100 cultural festivals yearly.
Otunba Adams is also the Chief Convener Oduaa Progressive Union (OPU), a socio cultural group he put in place for his race in diaspora to remind the sons and daughters of Oodua about core values and morals of their ancestors, intelligence, innovations and idealogy.
OPU is also put in place to further foster peace, unity and harmony amongst all Yoruba speaking tribes throughout Africa, Europe, Asia and beyond.
He’s single handedly instituted Oduaa Progressive Union in seventy eight (78) countries and still counting.
Ace actor, Yomi Fashlanso reiterated that Ahbeawards will keep expanding in projection so as to see that Africa’s profound sons and daughters are celebrated and honoured not when they are dead and gone but while they are pretty much alive, well and kicking.
