The proclamation of Dr Gani Adams as the Aare Ona Kakanfo Designate, has been described as his full time encounter with destiny, even as the Generalissimo mentioned the Unity among Yoruba natives as a major cause he intends to fight as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo.
The National Coordinator of Yoruba Patriots Movement, Barrister Oladosu Oladipo speaking during a congratulatory visit of members of the Movement to Dr Gani Adams in his Lagos home on Tuesday said the 15th Aare commands intimidating features that made him towers above every other living Yoruba man to qualify for the Aare Ona Kakanfo title,
Submitting that the members of the Yoruba Patriots Movement came to show love to” the one who is capable to take care of the Yoruba people” Oladipo said, before now, the Alaafin of Oyo had convinced the group of the choice of Gani Adams as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo just as he described the appointee as a custodian and reservoir of intelligence.
Further congratulating Adams, the Movement said God has brought him to permanent encounter with his destiny.
” God has brought you to have a permanent full-time encounter with your destiny
” Aare is a kingdom on its own, that’s why an Aare can not live in the same kingdom with the Alaafin. From the 13th of January, your home will become a kingdom with several units” the Movement submitted.
The host , while acknowledging the Movement as the first group to pay him a solidarity visit aside the many groups that have sent congratulatory messages to him since his proclamation, said he intends to use his new position, among others, to foster unity among the Yoruba natives.
He observed that though there are lots of potentials in Yoruba land, but they could not be annexed because of lack of unity.
Commenting on his life as a social crusader, the Aare designate said he started the struggle for the defence of the Yoruba race at the age of 23 while he assumed the leadership of the Oodua Peoples Congress at the age of 29.
He said, though his emergence as the National leader of OPC attracted controversy, but he didn’t allow it to distract him from the cause that brought him to the fore front of the struggle and the eventual leadership position.
According to him, his proclamation as the Aare Ona Kakanfo is an opportunity for him to further serve his race, adding that he sees the development as a challenge to do more in building a Yoruba race of immense value.
Submitting that he sees the new appointment as part of his destiny, the Arigidi-Akoko born activist said he won’t compromise on the interest of Yoruba race, even as he promised to defend the interest of Nigeria as a country on the basis of justice.
The Yoruba Council of Youths, represented by Comrade Eric Oluwole and Barrister Aremo Oladotun Hassan also visited the Aare designate on a solidarity visit.
They thanked the Alaafin of Oyo , Oba Lamidi Adeyemi for his decision to appoint Dr Gani Adams as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land.
