The murder of a Louisiana woman was livestreamed on Facebook.
In footage streamed in real time Thursday to an audience on the social media platform Facebook Live, mother-of-three Rannita Williams, 27, is told to apologise by man pacing behind her, repeatedly threatening her.
According to the Shreveport Times, another unidentified male is filming the encounter, with the footage since removed by Facebook.
It is unclear what she was being told to apologise for.
The man making threats is heard in the video saying: “Bitch wanna be famous?” before firing shots.
“Stop, Johnathan,” Williams says in a video. “Stop, Johnathan.”
Shots can then be heard and the phone streaming the video falls to the ground.
At the end of the video the shadow of a rifle barrel can be seen, and the man can be seen standing over Williams.
He is heard saying: ‘Now bitch, game over. Game over bitch.”
Police arrested Johnathan Robinson at the home in Shreveport, and found Williams injured inside.
Police rushed her to hospital, but she died of her injuries.
Relatives have identified Robinson as Williams’ former boyfriend. They told local media that the pair split up around two years ago, and Williams had found happiness in another relationship.
The Shreveport Times reported that police believe Robinson had showed up at Williams’ residence and held her hostage. They have identified the man with the rifle in the video as Robinson, and confirmed the authenticity of the footage.
Police responding to reports of gunshots at the residence were fired at by Robinson as they attempted to persuade him to surrender.
A police officer sustained minor wrist injuries in the stand-off with Robinson.
It is unclear how long Williams lay wounded while Robinson was involved in the stand off with police.
Robinson was charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of simple criminal damage to property and seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, jail records show. He is being held at Caddo Correctional Center.
