Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress in ten (10) Local Govt of Osun West Senatorial District met today to deliberate/resolve the vacuum created by the demise of late Senator Adeleke on the constituency that will continue from where he stopped.
It would be recalled that at last stakeholders’ meeting chaired by the Party Chairman, Prince Famodun, three issues were raised as to where d ticket should be zone to; 1. Ede should be allowed to finish Adeleke’s tenure, 2. Ede/Ejigbo/Egbedore Federal Constituency should be considered, 3. The contest should be let loose for the District consisting of 10LGAs.
These above situations necessitated the setting up of a committee saddled to resolve issues surrounding the seat.
Of the 10 Local Govt stakeholders chairmen present at today’s meeting only Isokan LG who has no chairman was not represented.
Five (5) voted in favour of the 10 LGAs in district to contest d ticket, Three (3) voted for the ticket to remain in Ede while one (1) supported the Ede Federal Constituency.
Hence, the contest for the Osun West Senatorial seat has been declared open for the 10 LGAs in the district. Beauty of democracy at play and APC, state of Osun should be commended for upholding internal democracy.
