Customers queued outside a Qatar Airways branch in Jeddah, Tuesday, to receive reimbursements for their flight tickets, after the airliner’s flights were grounded after Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates cut diplomatic ties with Qatar claiming that the Gulf country supports terrorism earlier that day.
The Qatar National Bank (QNB) was also seen closed, amid reports that some banks from the four countries will hold off dealings with Qatari banks.
Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Bahrain simultaneously broke off diplomatic ties with Qatar on Monday, with accusations of Qatar’s support for terrorist organisations.
