A whole lot of reasons has been alluded for the repeated attacks on Nigerians and fellow black Africans by South Africans.
We must at this point state that not all South Africans are Xenophobic, just like not all Nigerians are criminal minded. There are a lot of Nigerian Doctors Nurses Professors Teachers etc adding value to the South African economy.
The truth is that the South African Government has basically lost the plot and have resulted to passing the buck by conveniently instigating its people against fellow black Africans blaming them for there economic downturn joblessness and raising drug epidermic.
Basically the government needs to rise up to the present challenge by developing a hitech criminal intelligence model backed by very stern criminal convictions .
As Nigerians we must begin to understand that the apartheid era is history and today’s South African youths are less concerned to say the least.
Nigerians are notoriously loud globally, we are definitely not the most successful in our chosen endeavours be it legit or otherwise but we surely create the most attention.
I find the accusation that we have taken over the drug trade in SA very laughable, for instance are we the pioneers of the drug trade in South Africa or how does a Nigerian cartel control the drug trade in the Asian dominated city of Capetown, are Nigerians in control of the airports, seaports were the major shipments come through, are we heading the security agencys and other major enforcement units.
The truth is that the drug cartels are made up of all nationals white black yellow green etc operating at different levels in the different cities defending there respective turfs with their life’s, hence the notorious drug wars.
South Africans are the authors of there own problems, our lousy nature has conveniently made us the fall guys. This will become evident very soon.
The accusation of female dominance smacks of inferiority complex and jealousy as the average South African lady will always prefer a Nigeria over their own clan any day (haba who no like beta thing)
On a very serious note we need to look inwards as a nation we must hold our past and present leaders accountable in there entirety for there despicable leadership roles and our continuous economic decay resulting in the mass exodus and disdain by smaller nations.
As a nation we cannot even run a successful airline ala Ethiopia and Ethiopian airlines, not to talk of the utter disgrace of not being able to complete the Lagos/Ibadan motor way after 21years of successive governments and counting ,for god sake a one hour route did I mention power supply utterly disgraceful.
We must definitely start holding our leaders accountable as opposed to being treated less than animals globally.
All said and done we must applaud the patriotic symbolic and nationalistic gesture of a proud Nigerian Mr Allen Onyema of Airpeace Airline while our leaders were busy dancing round in circles as usual he pro- actively volunteered to evacuate Nigerians ready and willing to come back home free of charge….bless him.
The South Africans believed they had dehumanised us as a people, they expected us to beg them to stay in there country even in the face of repeated killings and brutality in the presence of there biased security officials they assumed SA was a paradise on earth they did not believe our willingness to leave in droves guess what they underestimated the Nigerian spirit the Nigerian pride,I shed a tear as Nigerians gracefully held there heads high and proudly sang the Nigerian National Anthem as they filled past the stunned South African Immigration officials to honourably board the waiting airpeace flight back home in the face of adversity.
For the very first time in my entire life I felt very proud to be a Nigerian seeing the rare show of patriotism across ethnic and religious divide even at there lowest point believe me I could not but shed a tear for Nigeria.
