The foremost social cultural Ikale organization, ‘Omawa Club’ has played host to the Vice Chancellor of the Ondo state University of science and technology (Osustech), Okitipupa, and the Okitipupa local government council boss, Hon. Mrs. Morenike Alaka. The event which held at Omawa club house on Saturday, the 11th June had in attendance prominent Ikale elites, business tycoon and captains of industry.
Omawa club has been in the forefront of advancing the course of social development of Ikale by providing social infrastructural assistance for the people of Ikale Land. The club has over the years shown passionate commitment to how the lots of the communities in Ikale Land can be improved.
while welcoming the two eminent personalities who had paid a courtesy call on the club members, President Omawa Club, Asiwaju Benson Akindeju said the club was excited to have in its midst the cerebral academic and Vice Chancellor of Osustech, Prof. Robert Ogunduyile, and the Chairman of the local government, Hon. Alaka, adding that the concern of the club is to attract development to the city of Okitipupa and its environment.
An executive of the club, Prof. Olu Akindutire on behalf of other club members thanked the VC for his visit and noted that he was impressed with the giant stride that has been recorded of late in the permanent site of the University, noting that the Vice Chancellor and his management team have the support of Omawa Club anytime.
Earlier, the Osustech Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Robert Ogunduyile in his address appreciated the interest of Omawa club in the development of Ikale Land, adding that the progress of any society is hinged on the level of commitment of its elite corps. Prof Ogunduyile, while reeling out the projects he had been able to facilitate in the University, since he resumed office, said it is worthy of note that the University has moved its administration facilities from the temporary site to the permanent site of the University along Igbokoda / Igodan road. He said he is committed to lifting the standard of the University,
soliciting that all hands must be on deck for the University to operate to its maximum potential.
In her own remark, Hon. Alaka, Chairman of Okitipupa local government thanked the club for deeming it fit to invite her to the august gathering. Alaka said she is confident that she can rely on the support and professional counsel of the club members who are successful personalities in their various fields. She noted that she is poised towards improving the lots of the people of the local government, adding that she has embarked on diverse empowerment programmes to assist the vulnerable in the society.
In an exclusive chat with press men, President Omawa club, Asiwaju Benson Akindeju thanked the two invited guests for honoring their invitation and saluted the government of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu for his interest in the growth of Ondo state university of science and technology, Okitipupa. On the area Omawa club could come in to offer assistance to the University, Akindeju said members of Omawa club shall visit the University to have a first hand assessment and then conclude on what areas they could come in to assist the University. He also congratulated Hon. Alaka on her appointment as the Okitipupa Council chair, promising her the full backing of Omawa Club.

Segun Ayerin, former House of Representative member, Dr. Olu Olakunde, Prof. Akindutire, former commissioner for Commerce and industry, Hon.Tayo Akinjomo , Abuja based business tycoon, Mr. Daisi Olakunde, Chief Wunmi Oki, Hon Wale Ogunmade and a host of others.
