Yobe State Government has approved the conversion of Government Model Boarding Primary School, Dazigau, Nangere LGA, to a new Permanent Orientation Camp for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state. Mai Ali Galtima, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Youths, Sports, Social and Community Development, disclosed during the signing of contract agreement for the renovation of the school on 24 October 2019.
According to him, Governor Maimala Buni found it imperative to provide the scheme with a permanent orientation camp following the suspension of orientation exercise at the former permanent orientation camp in Fika town due activities of the Boko Haram insurgents, which have bedeviled the state since 2011.
He stressed that his government is committed towards actualization of the NYSC scheme objectives in the state. About N129,000,000 has been earmarked for the renovation of existing structures, electrification, drilling of boreholes and reticulation of water in the new orientation camp among other things.
