The Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, HOTR, Paul Adefarasin, has reacted to the fire incident that occurred in the Abuja branch of the church at about 2pm on Sunday.
In a series of messages on his Twitter handle on Monday, he thanked God that there were no casualties and that the incident occurred in the afternoon after worshipper who came for the mid-year Thanksgiving Service had departed the premises.
He noted that “some parts of the complex were damaged by the fire”, and commended the “swift co-ordinated response” of “NEMA, the Federal Fire Service (Abuja), NJI, NNPC, Julius Berger, the HOTR staff & members, and several friends & well wishers of the house”.
While disclosing that the church was committed to determining the root cause of the unfortunate incident, Adefarasin assured that the fire outbreak won’t affect the church’s programme as the mid-week service would continue as usual.
“We are now working with the relevant authorities & consultants to ensure the structural integrity of the affected building,” the pastor posted.
