Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has described late former Federal Super Permanent Secretary, Ahmed Joda as a bridge builder and one of the Second Generation of Nigerian leaders who kept the fabric of our Nationhood knitted together.
In statement issued on Saturday to mourn the passage of the elder statesman, Otunba Daniel said “Alhaji Ahmed Joda was one of the earliest Civil Servants from the North who brought professionalism in service to the fore. His administrative capacity was first class.
“He was always there like a recurring decima and available in the service of our dear country. Ahmed Joda incidentally is one of the few leaders to be called upon each time there is a threat to the peaceful co-existence of Nigeria and he never disappointed.
“He built bridges of relationships across the length and breadth of Nigeria beyond the partisan lines of politics, culture and tribes. He lived as a core professional and much to his credit and that of a few others is the Organisation of the Civil Service structure in Nigeria, and especially in the North.
“History will be kind to him as one of such leaders who have provided Nigeria with their knowledge and experience during trying times, and when it looks like the ship of State is fallen.
“My family and I mourn this great Nigerian whom it has also pleased God to bless with long life and fulfilment of career. I pray that God should grant his repose peaceful and eternal rest and give his family the strength this time requires to bear his painful loss”
