English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspurs and Belgian outfits, Gent, have begun talks for the transfer of Nigerian striker, Gift Orban.
PUNCH Sports Extra on Thursday reported that the London club have agreed personal terms with the striker as the club continues their search for a replacement for star striker Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich this summer.
Tottenham are desperately in need of a striker and have identified the Nigerian as one of their targets, with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku also in consideration.
While it was reported that an agreement had been reached with the forward, all that was left was a deal to be struck with Gent for the transfer of the player.
However, Italian journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, wrote on his Twitter handle that the English club have begun talks with Gent.
“Talks ongoing for Gift Orban to Tottenham Hotspurs. Still no official written offer sent today by Spurs but I’ve been told, it’s processing. Wait and see.”
Orban, 20, whose Gent contract runs until June 30, 2027, has attracted interests from several European clubs following his impressive debut season, when he scored 20 goals in 22 appearances in the 2022/23 season.
The Nigerian has started this season on a bright note already with five goals from four games.
