Residents of Kudeti Estate in the Ikeja area of Lagos State have appealed to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, to assist them in addressing the ongoing challenges caused by land grabbers in their community.
They made this appeal recently while addressing journalists at the estate.
They called on the state government to enforce the 2016 Lagos State Property Protection law, which outlawed the use of force or self-help measures by anyone to acquire land or property.
According to one of the residents, who preferred to remain anonymous, he explained that the estate was not too far away from the Governor’s Office and any trouble brewing from there would breach the peace of the state.
He said, “As peaceful people, we do not want this to happen.”
