The Management of Breeze 99.9 FM, Lafia on Tuesday dragged the Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Al-Makura, before the state High Court in Lafia over the demolition of its radio station.
It is demanding over N1.5m, including N17. 8m special damages from the state government.
Counsel for Breeze FM, Ocha Ulegede, said the Chief Judge of the court has assigned the case to High Court 4, Lafia for hearing.
The lawyer said his client is praying the court to declare the action of the state government illegal, unconstitutional, high-handed
and vindictive.
He said, “We are also asking for a public apology and monetary damages of over N1.5bn.
“We also want the court to restrain the state government from carrying out a further demolition of the property as we have it on good authority that they are planning to demolish other structures on the property.”
