Deji Adeyanju has accused FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of seizing lands and transferring them to friends, vowing to hold him accountable.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Adeyanju criticised Wike’s recent demolition policies and alleged improper allocation of lands to the minister’s associates.
The accusations follow Wike’s earlier remarks targeting Adeyanju, claiming the lawyer’s activism stems from a lack of employment opportunities.

Adeyanju, however, dismissed the claims as diversionary tactics, accusing the minister of avoiding accountability for his policies.
Adeyanju highlighted specific grievances, including the alleged seizure of land from vulnerable residents in the FCT, which he claims Wike reallocates to his friends. He warned, “Wike will one day account for the land he has been seizing and transferring to his friends.”
The lawyer also criticised Wike’s lack of response to the allegations. “Rather than addressing the issues, he admits to giving the seized lands to his friends, asking if he should give them to his enemies. Such statements demonstrate his disregard for justice,” Adeyanju said.
The press conference was held a day after Wike publicly criticised Adeyanju, referring to him as “jobless” and accusing him of lobbying for the role of PDP National Publicity Secretary years ago.
Adeyanju, however, denied these claims, clarifying his active political engagement at the time, which ended eight years ago.
“This attempt to paint consultation with party leaders as begging is misleading,” Adeyanju stated. He revealed that Wike had initially pledged support for his PDP ambitions, questioning the minister’s decision to revisit these issues almost a decade later.
Adeyanju further accused Wike of fostering a “god complex,” suggesting that his inability to accept constructive criticism fuels his heavy-handed policies.
Adeyanju also criticised Wike’s political history, accusing him of betraying prominent figures, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, and engaging in corrupt practices.
“Wike’s only address is the looting of public resources,” Adeyanju claimed, alleging that Wike has used his government positions for personal enrichment.
The lawyer linked Wike to past controversies, including alleged involvement in raids on judges’ homes during the Buhari administration, further tarnishing the minister’s record.
Despite Wike’s criticisms, Adeyanju vowed to continue holding the minister accountable, especially for policies he deems anti-people. He also called for transparency regarding land reallocation practices in the FCT.
Adeyanju concluded, “These are the kinds of people ruling our country—those who should be held accountable for corruption and electoral fraud, yet they govern with impunity. Wike’s actions will not go unchallenged.”
