Elder statesman and All Progressive Congress (APC)’s chieftain ,Chief Bisi Akande, has announced his intention to meet Yoruba Leaders over the Presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking on Sunday night at his Ila Orangun, Osun State country home when the central committee of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (SWAGA), led by its chairman, Senator Dayo Adeyeye paid him a courtesy call, Chief Akande commended the efforts of the group and saluted their selflessness in tasking themselves to mobilize and travel round the sub-region on such a patriotic cause. He prayed for the delegation and assured the members of his total commitment.
As a first step, he pledged to support their efforts by embarking on visits to all Yoruba elders and further assist them propagate the desirability, suitability and viability of Tinubu’s candidature in the 2023 Presidential race.
The former governor of Osun State noted that, by the clear understanding in existence, it was the turn of a Yoruba man to be at the helm of affairs in the country; and that upon critical introspection as an experienced and active political leader in the region, he had no doubt that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the best, strongest and most electable prospect.
In the SWAGA Entourage were co-ordinators for all the South West states namely ,Lagos,Oyo,Osun, Ekiti, Lagos and others.
The group later visited the Governor of the State of Osun, Mr.Adegboyega Oyetola, who also commended their efforts and counselled them to maintain the momentum of their well- organised mission and vision.
The delegation’s working tour of the state of Osun continues tomorrow with visits to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Ooni of Ife and other eminebt traditional rulers and leaders of tbought in the state.
