Nineteen years after the death of the 14th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief MKO Abiola, a successor may have emerged today, given a privileged information obtained this evening.
Otunba Ganiyu Adams, national coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), a Facebook post made this evening by his close aide revealed, is the 15th holder of the Yoruba Generalissimo title.
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, is entitled to install a candidate for the title. But no official statement has been made on this yet.
The possibility of Gani becoming Abiola’s successor emerged few months back when an Oyo high chief alluded to it at a programme organised by the Gani Adams faction of the OPC.
