Manchester United forward, Alexis Sanchez is furious at Jose Mourinho for promising Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo his No 7 shirt.
Sanchez was given the No 7 shirt in January, inheriting the jersey last worn by Memphis Depay.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are reportedly edging close to a sensational deal for the Portugal captain, Ronaldo.
News outlet Don Balon reports that Sanchez is angry after learning Mourinho has promised Ronaldo the No 7 shirt.
The number is held in high esteem at Old Trafford.
During his six years spell at the club, Ronaldo wore the No7 with Sir Alex Ferguson giving it to him despite the Portugal star initially wanting the No 28.
It is a shirt also made famous by the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham.
Sanchez has, however, so far been unable to live up to the hype, managing just three United goals last term.
The newspaper said Mourinho is ready to give the shirt to the 5-time Balon d’Or winner if he returns.
Sanchez wanted the number at Barcelona but it was instead worn by Pedro.
Should Ronaldo return, it could mean Sanchez wearing No 10 which is left vacant following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to LA Galaxy in March.
