Residents and motorists in Agbado area, a border community between Lagos and Ogun States are lamenting the bad state of the road calling on the state governments to pay attention to their plight.
The road, also known as Olusegun Osoba road in the Ogun axis is in poor state and always flooded. As a result of the poor condition of the road, vehicles always get stuck and commuters spend hours getting to their various destinations.
More so, motorists also charge higher fare because of the damage to their vehicles and commuters have to contend with the situation.
Visits revealed that Lagos State government is currently working on the side that belongs to it. Work is presently going on at White House and Ayinla bus stops to ease the problem being faced by the people.
While appealing to the Ogun State government, residents explained that with the heavy rain being predicted this year, hard times are ahead if nothing is done to cushion the difficulties being experienced on the road.
“This road is in bad shape and we are the one bearing the brunt. Now that Lagos State is working on its parts, we are calling on the Ogun State government to come to our aid and carry out repair work”.
“The suffering is too much; we are appealing to Governor Ibikunle Amosun to pay attention to the road. The road is always flooded and you can imagine what the situation would be when it rains. The government should please come to our aid,” residents said.
