Finally, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded plans to hold its non elective mini convention in the absence of the President, Muhammadu Buhari. The party reached the agreement after a consultative meeting of the APC governors and the members of National Working Committee (NWC) Wednesday.
The party had last month postponed the mini convention scheduled for April 29 on the grounds that the President was not going to attend due to his ill health.
Few days after the party’s Convention was postponed, the President left for United United Kingdom to continue his medical treatment.
However, the APC has resolved that the Acting President would be briefed non the planned convention and he would take the place of the President in the Convention.
Briefing journalists after their meeting Wednesday, the governor of Plateau State, Simeon Lalong said: “The purpose of this meeting was to review our party activities and discuss the preparations for our second year anniversary. We ended a very successful meeting in continuation of our agreement at the last meeting that we will be meeting every month with the party’s leadership. Today is one of those meeting and we will have another one next month.”
