Security officials had a hard time controlling the crowd at the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abuja, on Wednesday when presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar showed up to submit his nomination form.
Although it’s been mentioned in some quarters as a “riot”, a security source currently at the PDP secretariat told SaharaReporters on phone that it was a “crowd control issue” that was quelled by personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
At least 12 other candidates will slug it out with Atiku for the party’s ticket when its presidential primary holds in a few weeks.
