The Chief Security Officer (CSO) to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Bashir Abubakar has denied Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and other principal officers of the National Assembly access to the presidential Villa where they were scheduled to meet with the president over the proposed 2018 appropriation bill.
Sources close to the villa said the lawmakers were slated to have dinner the president.
It was gathered that the CSO had insisted on having his officers frisk the National Assembly leaders, who arrived the Aso Villa gate in a white Toyota bus before they are allowed into the presidential compound but the lawmakers declined and said they would rather leave than be subjected to individual security screening.
As at the time of writing they were holed up at the residence of Saraki, where they had earlier grouped for the botched visit to Buhari.
