Victor Omofaye is Kogi Assembly’s new Speaker

The Kogi State House of Assembly has elected a new Speaker to replace Umar Ahmed Imam who resigned Wednesday night.
He is Honourable Victor Omofaye, member representing Kaba/Bunu.
At a special plenary on Wednesday where the replacement was announced, members eulogised with nostalgia the leadership quality of the former Speaker
Speaking shortly after the swearing-in of the new Speaker, the deputy speaker, Hassan Abdulahi from Dekina/Okura constituency, described the former Speaker as an epitome of humility and transparency difficult to match.
He urged the new Speaker to take a cue from the leadership quality of Honourable Imam.
