In her continued youthcentric activities, an astute politician and reputable philanthropist, Hon. Fatee Mohammed celebrated, in collaboration with United Nations, this year’s International Youth Day with Nigerian youth, especially members of the Celestial Church of Christ.
International Youth Day, commemorated annually on 12 August, is an awareness day designated by the United Nations for the main purpose of drawing attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth.
As usual, Hon. Mohammed, in a bid to inspire the young generation to achieve their potentials and God-given talents, took the celebration to a whole new level by also organising International Youth Day & Award 2019, a maiden edition of its kind ever in the history of the celestial church.
The event took place at the Celestial Church Christ International Headquarter, Lagos.
According to the organiser, she was inspired by the need to celebrate the youth projecting the under reported good side of celestial church to the world.
“In time past, we didn’t have a platform to showcase ourselves to the world, but now, from the commitment of the youth through the new media especially, we can see that celestial youth can compete with any anyone in the world.
“A celestial church is a unique that teaches you to live a Christlike life. And this could be seen in our youths who are now more redefined and transformed,” she said.
In her own opinion, MC Adebukola Osinbanjo, the visioner, Celestial Women of Faith International said, “Celestial youth being the future of tomorrow have made a lot of impact in the progress of our great church deserving of being celebrated.”
The Pillar of Youth Empowerment merit awardee, Prophetess Deborah Oshoffa also added, “By the grace of God, the celestial youth have worked tremendously to reduce negativity of the church. The reason I was able to buy into the vision of Hon. Fatee when she informed me of her intention to celebrate the youth, because I believe it’s long overdue.”
During the conference, the panelists enjoined the youth to believe in themselves as they are the powerhouse of the Celestial Church of Christ. Several youth entrepreneurs excelling in their chosen careers were invited from all walks of life to share their experience with the audience in order to encourage and reinforce the belief that ‘nothing can stop a youth with tenacity to achieve in life.’
The high point of the event was the award ceremony where celestial youth were recognised in many categories to encourage them.
The event, which was slated to be an annual one, ended on a high note with Hon. Fatee Mohammed declaring that youth can ‘achieve without forsaking Christ.’
