Debo Ologunagba, the suspended National Publicity Secretary, was removed by the Umar Damagum faction for issuing a press statement on the Rivers council election.
The acting National Publicity Secretary of the Umar Damagum-led faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ibrahim Abdullahi, has confirmed the suspension of the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba. Ologunagba was suspended for alleged anti-party activities linked to the Rivers State Local Government elections.
Abdullahi, speaking at a press conference in Abuja, explained that Ologunagba’s suspension resulted from a press statement he issued on the eve of the Rivers council elections.

In the statement, Ologunagba encouraged residents to participate in the elections, insisting that no court had the authority to stop the polls from proceeding.
The suspension comes amidst heightened internal divisions within the PDP, as the Rivers State crisis continues to cause friction within the party.
The press conference also addressed other leadership changes within the party, signalling ongoing tensions.
