Pan Nigeria group, the TeamNigeria4Change has called on Nigerians, especially the youth who are planning to mark the one year anniversary of the ENDSARS protest have been advised to see the occasion as time for sober reflection in the polity, owing to the destruction that followed the campaign next year.
The advise was given by the president of the Group ,Chief Bestman Jumbo Nze in a press he release he signed, stating that the situation in the country calls for critical evaluation of what transpired during the ENDSARS last year.
The group claimed that ,though it sympathises with those who were affected by the aftermath of the unfortunate incident, but the way out is a reflection of what went wrong and a way out of the quagmire.
According to him” let me on behalf of the TeamNigeria4Change extend solidarity with those who organized the ENDSARS campaign last year ,and also reiterate that the planned anniversary this year should be critically looked into ,in view of the present realities on ground.”
“While we will not prevent those planing to celebrate the anniversary not to embark on such, since it’s their constitutional rights to do such,we will just appeal that they should consider the mood of the nation, especially the unnecessary kidnapping and insurgency across the country. Economic crisis in the country is also a major consideration ,so that hoodlums or people with ulterior motives will not hijack the process again.” he said.
The group however posited that instead of open campaign or blockage of major roads, those concerned should embark on seminars or symposia to commemorate the anniversary.
The group equally urged the police or other security agents to conduct themselves peacefully and in accordance with the constitutional role of engagement.
