The Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) couldn’t have asked for a better convention judging by the record attendance the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos witnessed yesterday, one would have thought the politicians were having their national convention as the nation’s Theatre stakeholders converged at the venue.
Veterans and indeed green horns in the movie industry attended the widely publicised event. The event which was hosted by A-list comedian Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st had in attendance among others, the Generalissimo of the Yoruba Race, the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Aare (Dr.) Gani Adams, Prof.Ojo Rasak, Barrister Niyi Akintola, Fred Amata, Hon. Adeleke (OGSHA), HRH Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, The Elegushi of Ikate-Land, Security Expert Mr. Tope Agbeyo and other important dignitaries and industry stakeholders.
Dr. Tunde Adegbola also known as T. A. or Uncle T was the keynote speaker at the event. Dr. Adegbola is a Scientist, Musician, Engineer, Linguist and Culture Activist.
The opening segment, which was themed: Nigeria Movie Industry: The Journey So Far, witnessed the Unveiling of Tampan Man Of The Year had in attendance industry stars such as Omooba Dele Odule, (President of TAMPAN), Prince Jide Kosoko, Alhaji Adebayo Salami, Antar Laniyan, Veteran Filmmaker Tunde Kelani, Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin), Fathia Balogun, Yomi Fash Lanso (Director of Communications, TAMPAN), Adebayo Salami, Dupe Jayesinmi, Monsuru Fala, Toyin Alausa, Lanre Hassan, Yemi Solade and a host of others.
