The announcement was made by the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, on Thursday during the Oyo Federal Roads Stakeholders’ Engagement in Ibadan.

Themed *Enhancing Federal Roads in Oyo State: Challenges and Sustainable Solutions*, the event brought together key stakeholders to discuss critical infrastructure issues.
The Oyo-Ogbomoso road project has faced significant delays, raising concerns about its impact on economic activities in Oyo State.
Stakeholders at the event emphasised that the failure to complete the project on time has hindered economic growth not only in Oyo-Ogbomoso but across the entire state.
Umahi acknowledged the prolonged nature of the project and assured the public that the government is committed to ensuring its swift completion.
He confirmed that the contract would soon be re-awarded to a more capable contractor to expedite the construction process.
The decision to terminate the contract aligns with the Federal Government’s broader agenda of improving infrastructure efficiency and accountability.
With road networks playing a crucial role in economic development, the swift completion of the Oyo-Ogbomoso road is expected to boost trade, transportation, and overall connectivity in the region.
