Honourable Olufemi Onimole, a two term representative of Ifako Ijaye Federal constituency, Lagos, at the House of Representatives is dead.
Reliable sources said he died at the weekend at the age of 61 in a London hospital where he was reported to be undergoing treatment for a cancer related ailment.
Late Onimole was elected to represent Ifako Ijaiye Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003 on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD). He was re-elected in 2003 for the same office and same platform only for him to defect to the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the floor of the House.
His attempt for a third term in the House of Representatives was scuttled when he lost the 2007 election to the late Morufdeen Adeola Adefolabi.
Onimole was also at a time ,Vice Chairman of the old Agege Local Government when Chief Michael Oguntona was chairman.
