“Se ori daada ni, wo aso ti mo wo.
Kin lo ko sa’ra aso mi? Agba Sim, GLOoooooooooo. Kini mo wi? Agba Sim, GLOoooooooo. Oolo Glo, olo nkan kan, Agba Sim, Glooooooo. Agba gbogbo sim, Glooooooo.”
It was a splendid day for thousands of guests entertained by the verified Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Yorubaland, Alh. Abass Akande Obesere, at the just concluded Ojude Oba in Ijebu Ode.

The event sponsored by Glo had the Agbaakin on stage to delight the guests throughout the night and it was indeed massive. Agbaakin didn’t disappoint as usual. He gave his best and turned the whole gathering around with ‘Agbaakin Alujo’.
However, one notable thing that the Agbaakin Abobagunwa showcased has been in the subconscious of many music lovers and critics, forcing out different opinions as to what level of relationship is the Agbaakin Abobagunwa maintaining with the telecommunication giant that brought about such a unique concept. (Many kept asking this question: has Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Yorubaland been endorsed by Glo?)
It was first noticed on his (Obesere) dress. He wore apparently a Glo colour – green and white- and was glowing in it. His band boys and dance machines were also adorned in the same colour to showcase that Glo owns the night.
However, an inscription on Agbaakin Abobagunwa boys’ visible on the chest pocket boldly read – AGBA SIM.
He must have coined the name Agba Sim from his most recent title conferred on him as the Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Yorubaland.
Agba Sim connotes respect, experience and perfection. When something is called Agba, it simply says such thing or person has been exemptional in something with experience and attitude.
And in terms of services, many Nigerians believe GLO has been very friendly to many Nigerians and has offered mouth watering packages which many are enjoying now. Many people say Glo still has the best data offer with overwhelming bonuses, amidst low call rates to other networks.
However, to clear doubts, we contacted Agbaakin Abobagunwa to find out if plans are ongoing for his endorsement or otherwise.
Having had a short conversation with him, he said he wouldn’t like to say anything about it but he has got many calls all over the world commending him for his performance at the Ojude Oba and the Agba Sim concept he brought to limelight.
In his lyrics while selling out the concept, he said, “Se ori daada ni, wo aso ti mo wo.
“Kin lo ko sa’ra aso mi? Agba Sim, GLOoooooooooo. Kini mo wi? Agba Sim, GLOoooooooo. Oolo Glo, olo nkan kan, Agba Sim, Glooooooo. Agba gbogbo sim, Glooooooo.”
Meaning “Can’t you see it clearly, what is boldly written on my cloth? Agba Sim (Elderly Sim), Glooooooo. What did I say? Elderly Sim) Glooooooo. You aren’t using Glo, you are using nothing, Elderly of all Sims, Glooooooo.”
We tried to press further by asking: “Sir have you been invited for talks on endorsement because we heard something as such is on the way?” But he replied “let’s wait and see.”
However, we would like to keep our fingers crossed and watch out.
