These security measures, announced by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, on Wednesday, reflect the governor’s commitment to enhancing safety and deterring criminal activities across Anambra State.

The security upgrades include the installation of 40 high-definition CCTV cameras for continuous live monitoring of the secretariat.
In addition, two hybrid solar-powered control rooms have been set up to ensure uninterrupted surveillance, regardless of power outages.
To further bolster visibility and prevent nocturnal crimes, solar-powered lighting has been installed throughout the complex.
In terms of physical security, Governor Soludo’s administration has reinforced the perimeter of the secretariat with barbed wire to prevent unauthorised access. Iron protectors have also been mounted on doors and windows to curb illegal entries and improve overall building security.
Mefor also highlighted that previously exposed drainage areas, which had served as illegal entry points, have now been covered as part of new access control measures.
The restructuring of the security management team at the secretariat has also been implemented to improve coordination and response times.
Moreover, the access road leading to the secretariat has been rehabilitated to ease movement, ensuring better flow of traffic within the area.
“These interventions reflect the governor’s proactive approach to addressing security concerns at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat and ensuring a safe working environment for government employees,” Mefor stated.
This move is part of Soludo’s broader vision to enhance security infrastructure across Anambra State, reinforcing the safety of critical government installations and ensuring that citizens and officials feel secure in their daily operations.
By upgrading security systems and infrastructure, Governor Soludo continues to demonstrate his commitment to improving public safety in Anambra, setting the stage for more advanced security measures across the state.
