Gunmen have abducted a businessman, Mr. Yaro Talle, and killed his driver in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
It was learnt that the gunmen, who stormed Talle’s filling station on Wednesday night in Keffi, shot sporadically into the air as they arrived the scene.
Many people who fled the scene during the attack sustained various degrees of injuries in the process.
An eyewitness, Mr. Rabo Mohammed, told Saturday PUNCH that the gunmen shot the head driver of the station, Mr. Saidu Abdullahi, before whisking Talle away.
Mohammed said Abdullahi died instantly while several others sustained gunshot wounds.
Our correspondent learnt that shortly after kidnapping Talle, the assailants contacted his family to demand N30m for his release.
The Police Public Relation Officer of the Nasarawa State Police Command, Kennedy Idirisu, told Saturday PUNCH that the police were on the trail of the kidnappers and promised that they would not relent until the victim was released unhurt.
According to Idirisu, investigation into the incident has since commenced to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and face the full wrath of the law.
