In an attempt to whittle down and put an abrupt stop to a moving train, news of stepping down of Prince Femi Odulaja, a House of Representatives hopeful come 2019, representing Ijebu Central comprising of Odogbolu, Ijebu Ode and Ijebu NE, has been planted in the media and being passed around.
Contrary to these reports, Prince Femi Odulaja, while speaking with MetroNews NG, specifically pointed out that even though there had been an attempt to cajole him to forget his ambition of providing the needed quality representation to the good people of his constituency, he would never compromise.
“Yes, I have been approached to step down,” he confirmed, “but I rejected the offer because I remain focused on why I threw my hat into the race and it has nothing to do with my personal gratification but the fact that things needed to be done right.”
He, therefore, used the opportunity to encourage his supporters to be steadfast and never give up until victory.
In his own words, “I did not go into any agreement with anybody and I will not trade my service to my people for money.
“As a prince, the interests of my people remain paramount in my dealings and nothing would ever changed that.”
Odulaja said he has high hopes of winning the ticket to represent the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, when the primary election is held.
