Medical Director, Sir Patrick I. Yakowa General Hospital in Kaduna state, Dr. Jonathan Gajere said that all the three heavenly religions; Islam, Judaism and Christianity were limked to Abraham and the celebration of the concluded Eid-el-Kabir has a connection with Abraham.
Dr. Gajere stated this while fielding questions by journalists in the General Hospital, Kafanchan.
“But the problem now is that; since all the religions originated from Abraham and Abraham makes a covenant with the lord, the question now is, we, as followers, are we keeping the covenant? The entire crisis that started from 2011 in this area is that people are not telling each other the truth. Honestly, we are not making justifiable statements in terms of religion, tribe and everything. My appeal now is that lets forget the past because there can never be development whenever there is no peace. I call the community leaders to always look to whoever is wrong and tell him that you are wrong, once it’s started like this, our problem will be gone.
“I would like to appreciate His Excellency, Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai for the effort he has been making to ensure things work normal in the state. The major problem we are facing in the hospital is lack of staffs. But due to the efforts being made by the governor to employ more health workers are at the concluding stage. Very soon the hospital would be flooded with health workers. Another issue was lack of our structural maintenance, as you can see, the hospital is fairly large and the structures are many and actually to maintain is not an easy thing.
“Another aspect was light. As you can see now the light is fairly stable so most of the funds that were being used to buy diesel and other things we are turning it to our structural maintenance because government alone cannot do it. I appeal to everybody that has any means to assist us with, should please assist us, painting, buying diesel, building wards and anything. We can tell government that this ward was painted by so and so person in so, so date. I went to kano and saw how rich men are building wards inside hospitals.
“Lastly, is the absent of security. The security now on ground are actually doing their work but our major problem is that we don’t have permanent securities that were in charge of the hospital as a staffs that government will be paying them like other civil servants in the state.
