Isolo council boss, Olasoju Adebayo, on Thursday, inaugurated the local government’s Community Development Committee (C.D.C) Executives led by Mr. Adesegun Olatunde who was unanimously elected by the CDAs for another four-year tenure.
Supervised by the council’s Agric and Social Services Dept. under the Headship of its HOD, Mr. Olusegun Raji, the event took place on the council premises following the statewide dissolution of the previous executives by the state government last month.
Oath of office was administered to the 18-man executives council legal officer followed by presentation of certificate of election by the council chairman who was ably represented by the vice chairman, Hon. Shakir Sadiq.
In his remarks, Olasoju commended the outgone executives for living up to their responsibilities of project monitoring, community advocacy and complementing the efforts of the council via CDA-sponsored projects.
“It was a pleasure working with the outgone CDA executives led by Mr. Adesegun Olatunde. Under Mr. Olatunde the CDC was at its best by way of project monitoring, community advocacy and ensuring that the various CDAs were active in their respective areas,” Olasoju remarked.
Speaking further, the council honcho congratulated the new executives of the various CDAs, especially the Chairmen, secretaries and treasurers. He went on to hail them for the rancour-free ratification of the new CDC executives.
“I heartily congratulate you on your emergence as the leaders of your respective CDAs. This is a call to service and I believe you will serve selflessly and diligently. To the CDC, what more can I say than urge you to up your activities towards enhancing community advocacy and development. Be assured that we will continually work hand-in-hand with you, like before, to achieve your plans and also to help us in the discharge of the expected delivery of democracy dividends at the grassroots,” Olasoju concluded.
In his acceptance speech, the highly-elated Olatunde was full of gratitude to the council for what he described as unquantifiable support towards his emergence as he promised to foster the harmonious relationship between the council authority and CDC. He added that his second stint is to complement his first term achievement and raise the community service further.

Also in attendance at the epochal event were secretary to the local government (SLG) Hon. Sikiru Adeshina, the Chief of Staff to the council chairman, Hon. Musbau Qudari, councilor representing Akinbaye Ward, Hon. Idris Amusa, Supervisor for Agric and Social Services, Hon. Tunde Raji, Supervisor for chieftancy and boundary affairs, Hon. Olamide Taiwo among others.
