Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF) Winifred Oyo-Ita was seen visibly angry with the Chief of Staff to the President Abba Kyari inside the council chambers of the presidential villa, Abuja.
Members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) were already seated waiting for the commencement of the weekly meeting council meeting where the 2018 Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance emblem and fundraising programme was being launched.
Kyari was seen to have first started the confrontation intended to intimidate Mrs Oyo-Ita who also did not take it likely.
The chief of staff who was already seated before Mrs Oyo-Itaa entered the chambers was seen pointing accusing finders as apparently warning her over an issue that may not be unconnected to the recently leaked memo over the reinstatement of the embattled former Chairman of the Presidential Pension Reform Task Team (PPRTT), Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina.
Maina recently resumed at the Federal Ministry of Interior as Deputy Director after having been sacked the Federal Government and declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
President Buhari had penultimate week ordered the immediate disengagement of Maina as directed the HoSF to submit a comprehensive report to his chief of staff detailing the circumstances surrounding the reinstatement of the PPRTT boss.
Inside the council, it took the intervention of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to called the duo of Mrs. Oyo-Ita and Kyari to settle their disagreement.
Mrs. Oyo-Ita was over-heard telling the Chief of Staff that “I have reached the peak of my career, I am not an elected officer”.
Vice President Osinbajo succeeded in calming them down before the entrance of President Buhari arrived into the council chambers.
