It has been reported that Kano state House of Assembly Speaker Abdullahi Yusuf Atta has been impeached.
The impeachment took place on Monday morning. The new Speaker Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan Rurum has already been sworn in and commenced presiding over plenary. Alhaji Alhassan Kabiru Rurum was the deputy Speaker and prior to that was the immediate past Speaker that resigned last year over bribery allegation.
He was later exonerated by the committee set up to investigate the allegation.
