Well spirited Nigerians have been urged to pay more attention to the development of their communities by providing the needs of their people.
The new Lisa Aje Egbaland, Chief Oladipupo Adebutu who stated this while commissioning a water project donated by the Toyin Amuzu Foundation, in Oke-Ijeun area of Abeokuta, Ogun State said, this in no small measure, will reduce poverty and the suffering of the masses, while creating an enabling environment for all and sundry.
He said the Foundation has done well and has demonstrated its commitment to serve the people by providing the water project, as a Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, committed to bring succour to the people.
According to him, “Toyin Amuzu Foundation has done well and I commend the Chairman of the NGO, Chief Toyin Amuzu (TA) for the selfless service that will no doubt make his people happy. if all private individuals and corporate organisations can face headlong all our challenges and create this kind of solutions, we will have a better place to live in.”
Chief Adebutu also urged residents of the community to ensure the proper protection and handling of the project to be able to serve them for long.
A community leader and resident of the area, Mr Mufutau Babatunde and the chairman of the Oke Ijeun Youth Group, Mr Kehinde Jinadu who facilitated the project, could not hide their joy, as they showered encomiums on the NGO.
They also tabled other needs of the community and promised to protect the project saying “absence of water had really troubled them for long”.
In his words, the chairman of the NGO, Chief Toyin Amuzu promised to do more saying, “the idea of TA Foundation was borne out of the need to touch the people and support them where necessary”.
Chief Toyin Amuzu, despite his youthfulness, is a well known philanthropist who has the welfare of the people in mind at all times. Hopefully, the beneficiaries of his benevolence will realise that, this is the sort of individual they can rely upon to bring the dividends of a democratic government to them and eventually ask for him to represent them in the National Assembly.
I think he contested to be elected into the House of Representatives in 2019 unsuccessfully. This hasn’t stopped his magnanimous spirit from helping his constituents with some basic amenities up to the point of this water project.
His constituents must now look at his selflessness and push him into the House, in next elections, in order to obtain the largest share of his philanthropy and doggedness to help, especially from within government.
