The Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has urged residents to carry forward the values of peace, charity, and unity beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking at the Lagos State House Mosque in Ikeja, she emphasised the need for compassion, generosity, and communal harmony as key pillars in building a stronger, more cohesive society.

Dr. Sanwo-Olu made these remarks during a special gathering held to mark the end of Ramadan, attended by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, top government officials, and religious leaders.
The event served as a moment for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to social responsibility.
In her address, the Lagos First Lady highlighted that the virtues of Ramadan, such as self-discipline, kindness, and giving, should not be limited to the fasting period alone.
“Ramadan teaches us self-discipline, kindness, and the importance of giving. As the sacred month ends, let us carry these virtues forward in our daily lives,” she stated, encouraging the people of Lagos to continue supporting the needy and fostering peace.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was also present, reinforced his wife’s message, stressing the importance of unity and collective effort in ensuring the peace and progress of Lagos and Nigeria.
He called for continued prayers and emphasised that “peace and progress depend on collective efforts and good governance.”
The event included Quranic recitations, special prayers, and a communal meal, underscoring the vital role of faith in promoting social cohesion and shared responsibility.
The gathering also reinforced the message that compassion, humility, and generosity should extend well beyond the Ramadan period, fostering a sense of unity and collective well-being in the wider community.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu’s words have resonated with many, reminding citizens that the spirit of Ramadan should not end with the month’s conclusion but should remain a constant presence in their daily lives, helping to build a more peaceful and united society.
