A former Millersville University student admitted to deliberately putting bleach in his pregnant girlfriend’s water in an attempt to harm their unborn child. Theophilous Washington pleaded guilty to attempted homicide against the unborn child in the incident. He remains in Lancaster County prison on $1 million bail, and is to be sentenced after a background check is completed in a few months, according to police.
Washington is accused of giving his two months pregnant girlfriend a bottle of water that he knew contained bleach, Millersville University police say. She drank some of the liquid at her on-campus room, threw it up, then proceeded to call 911.
Washington admitted to the Millersville police that he himself put the bleach in the water bottle, and made statements saying that he did not want his girlfriend to have the baby. The woman and her child were believed to be physically unharmed after the incident, and she has since given birth.
