The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has faulted the plan of President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to build a modern refinery in his home state of Katsina.
It described the plan as insensitivity and callousness.
The group, which further said Biafra struggle had reached the point of no return, stressed that no amount of intimidation would deter or stop the drive.
A statement signed by the Leader of MASSOB, Uche Madu, in Abakaliki, queried the rationale behind building a petroleum refinery in Katsina, which is not an oil producing state.
According to MASSOB, Buhari wants to build a cattle ranch in Edo State which is an oil producing state and also conversely wants to build a refinery in Katsina, which is a cattle rearing state and many people are wondering what is wrong with Nigeria as a country?
He noted that this is an open evidence of sadism and wickedness, which always expose Nigeria as a state of injustices and inequalities, where marginalisation, deprivation and subjection of Biafrans and Christians are highly promoted.
In another development, the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has described energy security as very paramount to survival of the country’s economy and business growth.
Chairman, Board of Directors of the company, Alhaji Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar, who stated this at the weekend during the maiden Kaduna Members’ Evening and Dinner organised by the Institute of Directors of Nigeria (IODs), urged business communities to join hands with the government in ending the current security challenges in the country.
He noted that the security challenges in Zamfara, Sokoto and Kaduna states are not only adversely affecting the operations of firm, but almost all businesses in those areas.
He, therefore, called on captains of industry and the business community to lend their support to government’s campaigns aimed at creating peaceful and conducive atmosphere for businesses to flourish.
