President Muhammadu Buhari’s nomination of Sunday Dare for a ministerial slot has been lauded by a group, the Oyo All Progressives Congress (APC) Reformers.
The group, in a statement released by its chairman, Hon Lawrence Adewale, and publicity secretary, Engr Dipo Fawole, promised to support and work with the minister-designate, The Nation reports.
We gathered that the group described the nomination as one which is well deserved and will move the state forward; and further lauded the president and the APC national chairman, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for not giving the slot to former governor Abiola Ajimobi.
The group commended the decision of the Oke Ogun Unity Forum leaders to return to the ruling party after the end of the tenure of the “jackboot dictator”.
It said the time had come for alliances to be formed with other leaders and groups like the Oke Ogun Unity Forum; as the “constituted authority” had lost his final battle and the federal government had aligned with the people of Oyo state.
The group implored Tinubu to pay a reconciliatory visit to Oyo state and investigate its call for the dissolution of the APC’s executive council in the state.
Recall that we previously reported that the immediate past governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola, was named with other nominees for the ministerial positions in the list sent to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The other members of the APC who made the list included the former governor of Benue state, George Akume, and former minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi.
Chris Ngige, Hadi Sirika, Rotimi Amaechi, Festus Keyamo, Uche Ogah, Emeka Nwajuiba and Babatunde Fashola, the immediate past minister of power, works and housing, were also included in the list.
