Nigeria Association For Young Adults Of Canada Inc.(NAYA), led by Shola Agboola, has written a letter of visitation to his Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari on its intention to visit him between April 23rd and 6th May 2019.
The association seized the opportunity to humbly congratulate the president on his landslide victory at the just concluded Presidential election.
NAYA in its letter said” We, the NAYA, and the President of the California Congressional Black caucus delegation and her team from Canada and America wish to humbly pay a courtesy call on President Mohammed Buhari between April 23rd and 6th May, 2019 when we would be in Nigeria”
The association congratulates Buhari on his victory at the just concluded Presidential election. The letter further explains that President Buhari’s return to power is an evidence of the people trust in his government.
NAYA is an incorporated and registered organization with the Government of Canada. It’s institutionally recognized for its significant roles in fostering the interests of Nigeria both in Nigeria and in Diaspora. Over the last decade, NAYA has made significant social investments in many sectors such as Health Care, Education, and Rural integration in Human empowerment, ICT Training, Computer Funding and Provision, Cultural Promotion/Exchange and Female Gender Development Initiatives.
NAYA has partnered with several reputable international organizations to carry out many of its socio-economic programmes and intervention in virtually all the geo-political zones of the country with social investment worth several hundreds of millions of dollars. Some items donated in Osun State, Oyo State, Abia State, Ogun State, Imo State, Bayelsa States, Kebbi state e.t.c includes free medical equipment and supplies, hundreds of laptop and desk-top computers, hundred of thousands of post-secondary & primary textbooks to many schools as well as thousands of clothing to people in rural areas
In addition to NAYA’s corporate social responsibility to humanity, It has recently partnered with the California Congressional Black Caucus and the International Black Chamber of Commerce to facilitate meaningful investments into Nigeria in many areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, road construction etc.
The president of the association, Mr. Shola Agboola who has as a substantial governance and public policy management experience, having being working for the government of Canada for many years explains that they Intend to achieve their investment objectives by first meeting with government leaders, captains of industry, and other relevant stakeholders in Nigeria to discuss economic priorities, infrastructural needs and knowledge exchange that could help the organization achieve its patriotic effort by facilitating direct foreign investment to Nigeria.
Mr Agboola was recently in California to meet with the president of the California Congressional Black Caucus delegation Dr. Zyra MacCloud and her team to sign a memorandum of understanding.
Mr. Agboola further explains that despite the huge responsibility the association has in Nigeria, NAYA’s mission also includes facilitating scholarship for brilliant Nigerian students in post-secondary institutions in Canada while at the same time assisting and mentoring young graduates to become permanent residents of Canada through Manitoba immigration programme after their studies,.
