The first phase of the project was inaugurated on Wednesday during an interdenominational service. NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General Mohamed Marwa (rtd.), highlighted the move as a significant milestone for the agency.
“This relocation represents a vital step in the NDLEA’s development,” Marwa stated. He added that the enhanced facility would provide a better working environment to support the agency’s fight against drug-related crimes across the country.
The NDLEA plans to complete the remaining phases of the headquarters project using the 2025 budgetary allocations.
This timeline underscores the agency’s commitment to long-term planning and strategic investment in its infrastructure.
The update was confirmed by the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, in a statement issued on Wednesday.
Babafemi expressed optimism about the project’s role in empowering the agency to fulfil its mandate effectively.
