The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani has described former defence Minister, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma’s statement, as a clear indication that the nation was ‘tip toeing through a minefield’.
The former Minister in his speech at the maiden convocation ceremony of the Taraba State University on Saturday in Jalingo accused the Nigerian Armed Forces of aiding attacks by bandits on communities across the country, warning that if such attacks continued, the consequences would make what happened in Somalia a child’s play.
He,further, stated that the military could not be relied upon for the security of the citizenry, advising Nigerians to rise up to defend themselves or risk massacre.
Sani in a series of tweets reacted to the former defence Minister’s call on Nigerians “to defend themselves against herdsmen attacks”, across the country.
“You can’t claim to know Buhari more than Danjuma does.
“You can’t lecture Buhari and Danjuma about WAR and PEACE.’
“Buhari has heard Danjuma’s Radio message.
And I believe he has decoded the message.
“THE NATION is tip toeing through a minefield. The two Generals are experienced to know better that its fate lies in every step.”
